continued . . . . .
Food Pantry – The Food Pantry remained open, serving an ever-growing number of clients, and accepting a steady stream of much needed donations. We are offering online and phone pre-ordering and contact-free curbside grocery pick-up.
Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Services – We have seen a dramatic increase in the need for Domestic Violence support. Since August, this program has seen a nearly 300% increase in clients. Our Emergency Shelter is open, and we are providing resources for more clients than ever before.
Case Management and Support – We continue to make daily wellness calls to our most vulnerable clients. Again and again, our clients express tremendous appreciation for the ways GoochlandCares is helping them cope.
Medical Transportation – In August, the van resumed service, limited to 3 riders a day to ensure social distancing. Moisture guards were installed to keep everyone safe. All riders are required to wear a mask and check their temperature before boarding.
Clothes Closet – The Clothes Closet is accepting donations and has reopened for shopping with new guidelines in place to keep everyone safe. Clients needing children’s clothing can also order by phone.
Registration – We developed an online registration tool to connect those seeking assistance with GoochlandCares.
